Lunar Trail Address: Various Presenter: Kevin Schindler City Staff: Mark Di Lucido, CD&R Project Administrator REQUESTED ACTION: Hear presentation about the Lunar Trail project The Lunar Trail is a planned commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first moon-landing and the role local scientists and businesses played in making the exploration of the moon’s geology a success. An audio tour of sites around the city where the training of many Apollo program astronauts took place and where development and testing of moon exploration equipment occurred will commemorate this role. The project features signs indicating the locations of Flagstaff’s moon-landing facilities and a 1-800 phone number to hear prerecorded audio segments. Planned additional user experiences would include online in-depth write-ups and photographs. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the Lunar Trail project. 2. Joel Montalvo Park Mosaic Address: 2211 E. 1st Avenue City Staff: Mark Di Lucido, CD&R Project Administrator REQUESTED ACTION: Consider submissions and select a mosaic finalist The Joel Montalvo Park Mosaic is a public art project planned for the existing Park maintenance building. The mosaic is a fiscal-year 2019 projects with a budget of $35,000. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve selection of a finalist.
